EPA prosecutes a Poultry Farmer

On 10 February 2010 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted a Poultry Farmer at Dungarvan District Court.  He pleaded guilty to operating without an IPPC Licence by carrying on the activity of rearing poultry in installations where the capacity exceeds 40,000 places as referred to in the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (Established Activities) Order 2006 (S.I. No. 279/2006).

On hearing details of the offence, Judge Finn imposed a fine of €750 and EPA costs of €2,750 were also awarded.
