Prosecutions 2012

In 2012 there was one prosecution on indictment resulting in a conviction.  There were also 16 cases heard in the District Court, 9 of which resulted in convictions.  The details of the convictions are set out in the table below.

Three unlicensed poultry farmers and one holder of an IPPC licence were given the benefit of the Probation Act.

In one District Court case against a waste licence holder and one of its directors, the Judge indicated that if the director paid a donation to charity and also paid all costs and expenses he would record that the facts had been proved and nothing further.

In another District Court case against an unlicensed waste company, the Judge convicted the company.  The company appealed the conviction by way of case stated to the High Court.
