PPI Adhesive Products Limited and two Directors prosecuted on indictment

On 26 February 2013, at Waterford Circuit Court, the Director of Public Prosecutions prosecuted PPI Adhesive Products Limited and two of its directors.  The prosecution was based on a file that was prepared by the Environmental Protection Agency.

All three parties pleaded guilty to providing false or misleading information; failing to monitor emissions to the atmosphere from the Regenerative Thermal Oxidiser and four counts of exceeding emission limit values to the atmosphere.

On 10 May 2013, on hearing details of the offences, Judge Johnson convicted the company and both directors and imposed fines for providing false and misleading information as follows:

PPI Adhesive Products Limited was fined €20,000; one director was fined €2,000 and the other director was fined €1,000.

He found that the other charges were proven and took them into account in sentencing the parties.  The Agency’s costs of €11,077 were also awarded.
