EPA Prosecutes Irish Water (Spiddal)

On the 26th February 2018, the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Irish Water at The Four Courts for its Spiddal agglomeration. 

Irish Water pleaded guilty to:

• Within the period 23 December 2015 to 31 May 2017, failing to complete the improvements as set out in Schedule C: Specified Improvement Programme in order to ensure compliance with the emission limit values as set out in Schedule A: Discharges and Discharge Monitoring.

Judge Brennan convicted Irish Water and imposed a fine of €2,500. 

Agency costs of €5,184.38 were awarded.
